VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PASTORS CHAD & ERIN
Good Afternoon, Wellspring Family,
I pray this message finds you well and resting in the peace of the Lord.
Typically, Erin and I observe Mondays as our Sabbath to rest, reflect, and recalibrate. However, due to an increasingly concerning matter that has continued to arise, I felt it necessary to address our church leaders directly.
This is not something I take lightly or have ever had to do in this manner before, but I believe it’s important to bring clarity, protection, and unity in the face of division.
Scripture is very clear on how God views discord and division among His people. Proverbs 6:16–19 (ESV) says:
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Earlier today, a former children’s pastor posted public comments referencing Wellspring Church, including false claims about our leadership. Additionally, there have been private messages sent to families of our congregation containing vague, misleading statements warning them about our church and our leadership. When asked to clarify these accusations, there has been no meaningful response.
This kind of behavior is not in alignment with the character and conduct Christ calls us to. Open-ended and misleading narratives create confusion and division, and we must be vigilant not to allow such things to take root in our fellowship.
Let us remember, as Ephesians 6 reminds us, that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces that seek to divide, distract, and destroy. Since this individual’s resignation, I have made multiple good-faith attempts to reach out for a mature and biblical conversation. Unfortunately, these efforts have gone unanswered.
As a shepherd, I take seriously my responsibility to guard this house and to uphold biblical integrity. I will not allow gossip, slander, or false accusations to bring harm to the body God has entrusted us with.
I kindly ask that if you are approached by anyone spreading hearsay, gossip, or accusations, I think it’s best to not engage, however if you do, please respond with wisdom and discernment, grounded in the Word. The proper biblical path for addressing conflict is clear: direct, honest conversation, seasoned with grace and truth. I encourage the other party to follow this approach.
Regarding the main concern being circulated:
Erin and I have been actively seeking godly counsel and support in areas such as financial stewardship, legal matters, leadership development, and ministry training. We are currently pursuing connecting with Presence Driven Network, a ministry of Mercy Culture Church in Texas, which exists to serve churches like ours in a relational, resource-based capacity.
To be completely transparent:
Wellspring Church remains fully autonomous. We are not, and will not be, under the authority or control of any outside leadership or denomination. We are not becoming a campus, satellite, or extension of another church. Our only covering is and will always be Jesus Christ.
The Presence Driven Network is simply a network of churches who connect for mutual support and encouragement in ministry. Nothing more.
Church family, if we are to advance the Kingdom and stand strong against the enemy’s tactics, we must remain unified, grounded in truth, and committed to guarding the bond of peace.
Thank you for your continued love, prayer, and support. We love you deeply and are honored to serve this house.
With love and grace,
Pastors Chad & Erin
