OUR UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS

WE ARE A PRESENCE DRIVEN CHURCH

Our foundation is not built on people, platforms, or ministries, but on the Presence of God. In all we do, we seek His voice, His heart, and His leading for His house.

(Exodus 33:14-15, Psalm 127:1, Romans 8:14)

People are the priority

We prioritize people over ministry.
We believe healthy relationships matter more than roles, routines, or results. People are not interruptions to ministry... they are the heart of it.

(Mark 12:30-31, Philippians 2:3-4, 1 Thessalonians 2:8)

WE EMPOWER WOMEN IN MINISTRY

We believe women are called, gifted, and empowered by God for ministry. We champion and support women as they faithfully walk in the Biblical calling God has placed on their lives.

(Joel 2:28-29, Acts 2:17-18, Galatians 3:28)

WE LOVE ISRAEL

We honor the Biblical significance of Israel and remain committed to praying for the peace, protection, and

salvation of its people.

(Psalm 122:6, Romans 10:1, Genesis 12:3)

OUR STANDARDS
OF LEADERSHIP

DAILY ENCOUNTERS

Jesus is the only way to God. Our desire is to help people encounter His Presence, equip them to cultivate daily connection with Him, empower them to walk closely with Him, and engage the world from a place of intimacy with Jesus.

John 14:6; Ephesians 4:11–13; John 15:4–5

FORGIVENESS

We choose forgiveness because Christ first forgave us. Forgiveness keeps our hearts soft, our relationships healthy, and our lives positioned for continued spiritual growth.

Matthew 6:14–15; Ephesians 4:31–32; Colossians 3:13

SABBATH

We honor the Sabbath by setting apart intentional time unto the Lord. We believe Sabbath is God’s invitation to rest, be renewed, hear His voice, and remain connected to His Presence.

Mark 2:27; Exodus 20:8–10; Matthew 11:28–29

TITHE

We believe the tithe honors God and acknowledges that everything we have comes from Him. We joyfully bring our first and our best as an expression of worship and trust in His provision.

Proverbs 3:9–10; Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7

UNITY

We value unity because it pleases the Lord and strengthens His Church. As we align ourselves with the Holy Spirit, we grow in oneness with one another and steward an atmosphere where God’s Presence dwells.

Psalm 133:1–3; Ephesians 4:3; John 17:21

Our Beliefs

Wellspring Church’s core beliefs describe our theological positions on key aspects of faith. Centered in Christ and His message, ours is a biblical theology rather than a theology that is speculative, subjective, or merely rooted in tradition. These beliefs are derived directly from Scripture

(both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible).

THE BIBLE

The sole basis of our belief is the Bible—the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe Scripture in its entirety originated with God and He revealed it to chosen authors. Scripture speaks with the authority of God while simultaneously reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of these human authors. We hold that the Scriptures, in their original manuscripts, are infallible and inerrant; they are the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice. There are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

GOD

We believe there is one true, holy God, eternally existing in three equal persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the beginning, God demonstrated His power, wisdom, and goodness by creating the world and everything in it. Through His divine power and providence, God continues to sustain His creation, operating within history to fulfill His redemptive purposes.

SALVATION

The central purpose of God’s revelation in Scripture is to call people into fellowship with Him. Originally created to be in relationship with God, humans defied Him by going their own independent way, resulting in alienation from Him and the innate inability to please God. This fall took place at the beginning of human history; since then all people have suffered these consequences and are in need of the saving grace of God.

The salvation of humanity is completely a work of God’s free grace; it is not in any way the result of human works or goodness. Each person can receive salvation by repentance and faith. God’s Word assures individuals that He will continue His saving work in them forever.

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ, the eternal second person of the Trinity, was fully united with a human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived in perfect obedience to the Father, voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, and satisfied divine justice, bringing salvation to all who trust in Him alone. After His physical death, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father as the only intercessor between God and humans. He promises to return to earth, personally and visibly, to fulfill history and the eternal plan of God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is God—our Helper, Comforter, and the giver of life. Active throughout Scripture and poured out upon the Church at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live for Christ, grow in spiritual maturity, and boldly share the Gospel. He transforms us from the inside out, producing His fruit in our lives and shaping us into the image of Jesus. We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to every believer and releases a greater empowerment for Christian living, ministry, and witness. The work of the Holy Spirit is evidenced through both His fruit and His gifts, which are given to build up the Church and glorify Jesus.

HUMAN DESTINY

Death seals the eternal destiny of each person. All humanity will experience a bodily resurrection and a judgment that will determine the fate of each individual. Having rejected God, unbelievers will suffer eternal condemnation apart from Him. Believers will be received into eternal communion with God and will be rewarded for works done in this life.

THE CHURCH

All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are united with Him as members of His body, the one true church. Scripture commands believers to gather for worship, prayer, fellowship, and the teaching of the Word; to observe Baptism and Communion as established by Jesus Christ; to offer service to the body through development and use of talents and gifts and outreach to the world. The local expression of the church is wherever God’s people meet regularly in obedience to this command. Cared for and led by Elders and leaders, church members are to work together in love and unity for the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

FAITH & PRACTICE

In all matters of faith and practice, Scripture is the final authority. In matters where Scripture is silent, believers should conscientiously seek to be led by God because it is to Him alone he or she is ultimately responsible.

BAPTISM & COMMUNION

Wellspring Church observes two biblical sacraments rooted in the actions and teachings of Jesus Christ: Baptism and Communion. These sacraments represent both the individual, inward commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus and the corporate, outward sign of being connected to a local community of Christ followers—the local church.

We Believe in biblical marRiage

At Wellspring Church, we are committed to loving every person with the unconditional love of Christ while remaining firmly rooted in the truth of God's Word. We believe that God created humanity male and female and established marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman. This conviction is not based on culture or tradition alone, but on the clear teaching of Scripture, including Jesus' words in Matthew 19:4–6. Because we believe God's design for marriage is both good and unchanging, Wellspring Church affirms and upholds the biblical definition of marriage as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman.

Wellspring Church Leadership

SENIOR PASTORS

Chad + Erin Rodgers

Chad and Erin met in Daytona Beach, FL in 2002 in a very unexpected place. Their lives were filled with hurt from years of brokenness and disappointment. But what the enemy meant for evil, God has made good. When God brought Chad and Erin together, it was the beginning of a transformation that would change the trajectory of their lives. God began to heal all the broken places in their hearts, and in June of 2007, Chad and Erin were married.

In late 2008, Chad and Erin stepped into full time ministry as worship pastors in the local church.  During this time, God began to cultivate and prepare them for the calling God placed on their lives. After 13 plus years of full time ministry serving as worship pastors and directors of a leadership internship program, God closed the door on that chapter of their lives to prepare them for what was next.

In early 2021, God began to speak to them both about planting a church in their hometown of Lake City, FL. This was not something they were expecting, but knew that it was God ordained. In the spring of 2021, Chad and Erin began preparing and getting things in order to announce the plant of Wellspring Church.

God has been doing a mighty work and has continually blessed every step of faith that they have made as they engage this new journey of their lives.

Their heart for the community is to see people have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ, equip the Body of Christ for His service, empower believers to walk out the purpose of their lives, and engage a lost people, leading them into the loving arms of our Savior.
